Single Islay Malt Whisky - Aged 15 years - 43% vol
The nose
on the 15 year old was not nearly as powerful as the 10 year old.
There was more of a paint thinners aroma than iodine, and it
seemed a lot milder. The initial taste was done neat, followed by
a second taste after adding a drop of Scottish Highland mineral
water. What a difference! The water really opened up the aroma
and taste of the malt, making it a lot more sweeter and
palatable. However, it does not rate as good as the 10 year old,
especially on a back to back comparison.
